Manny Mantis

I have been told to let you all know that this is AJ writing, but I am sure that will be obvious given the subject of the post. I was outside pruning back some of the flowers and I found our newest pet, his name is Manny Mantis.

Unfortunately Manny ran away shortly after this picture. Its a sad day at the Jorg household :(

Future Mozart?

Uncle Corey let Cooper play the piano while we were in Monument. Cooper loved it! He loved banging his hands on the keys, but he loved standing on the piano even more. Cooper loves music! Maybe he will be a future pianist like his mommy?

Bananas, Avocados, and Apples

Cooper started with solid foods on April 6th, 2012. We started with homemade sweet potatoes, and gave this to him 1x/day for 4 days, then switched to a fruit. He didn't like the sweet potatoes that much, but he didn't hate them either. At this point we are only hoping to get him use to eating solids.
When we got to Colorado, we gave him bananas. He LOVES bananas! I think he likes the sweetness of the fruit. He ate about 1/3 of the mashed bananas.

When we got back home to California, we switched Cooper to avocados. We are alternating between fruit and veggies. He had the same feeling of avocados as he had with sweet potatoes. He didn't hate them, but he didn't love them either.

Apples were his next fruit. And he loves them! We have started giving him less solids, but 2x per day and this seems to work better for us and for cooper. We give him solids in the morning and then around 4 pm. We have noticed if he is too tired or cranky he won't eat them.

Our next vegetable will be zuchinni, which we will start this weekend.

Easter in Colorado

We flew out to Colorado on Easter morning for the service of my friend's father which was on Monday and Tuesday. We arrived at DIA around 12 on Sunday afternoon. My mom picked us up at the airport and we made the hour drive down to Monument. Cooper did great on the plane. We were lucky that he slept til 4:30 that morning then went back to sleep until 5:45 when we had to leave for the airport. He slept most of the time on the plane. We are lucky that he is such a great traveler (at least for now).
Once we got down to Monument, Corey, Chris and Karrington were all there. Cooper opened his Easter basket from my parents where he received a bunny, a few books, some candy and a chocolate bunny (which AJ ate) as well as some plastic easter eggs with money it them. Karrington brought cooper some swim trunks! This is one very spoiled baby!
We then dyed easter eggs. AJ did most of the work, as Cooper was more interested in cardboard box to store the eggs.
My mom cooked a great Easter dinner. We had honeybaked ham (my favorite), twice baked potatoes, jello salad, green beans, and crescent rolls. And we had cheesecake for dessert. I of course couldn't eat the potatoes or cheesecake, so I had sorbet instead.
Chris headed back up to Denver, and Karrington left the next morning.
It was great seeing both of them, even if it was such a short time. We are planning on being out there for the 4th of July as AJ has a work meeting that week as well.
Here are some pictures from Easter.

March for Babies

AJ's work is a big supporter for the march for babies. We will be walking in California to support Jackson National (AJ's work).

Here is some info about March of Dimes. This was taken from their website:

"When you walk in March for Babies, you give hope to the more than half a million babies born too soon each year. The money you raise supports programs in your community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. And it funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten our babies. We’ve been walking since 1970 and have raised an incredible $2 billion to benefit all babies."

We wanted to march this year because Cooper was born almost 5 weeks early. We would love your help to try and reach our goal. We will walk on May 19th here in Simi Valley (about 10 miles away).

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to everyone! We are heading out to Colorado early tomorrow morning. This was a last minute trip. One of my good friend's dad passed away after a long battle with cancer. His services are Monday and Tuesday, so we are making the trip out. AJ will fly back to California on Tuesday evening, but Cooper and I will spend the week in Colorado with my family and will return to California of Saturday. I will most likely not get around to blogging until next weekend. Hope everyone has a great week!

So serious! He was getting tired. No smiles from him.

Afternoon at the Park

It was such a nice and warm day out today, that we decided to take a walk to the park in our neighborhood that is located right behind our house. We wanted to take some pictures of Cooper as well. Cooper loves being outside and if he could, he would spend all day out there. Enjoy some of our pictures.
